Originally known as the Arkansas Cardinals, College Football Hall of Fame coach Hugo Bezdek proclaimed his team played “like a wild band of razorback hogs” at the end of the undefeated season of 1909. The name proved so popular that the student population of the University of Arkansas voted to change its nickname to the Razorbacks.

  • Each bobblehead is individually numbered to 2,024.
  • Standing on Arkansas Razorbacks logo-shaped bases bearing their names, each unique Tusk bobblehead captures the popular mascot’s personality and likeness.
  • Bobblehead is high quality and produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum
  • The school’s live mascot tradition dates to the 1960s. Since 1997, Tusk has been the official live mascot of the Razorbacks.
  • The current live mascot is Tusk VI, a 350-pound Russian boar which closely resembles the wild hogs known as razorbacks native to the Arkansas wilderness. All official Tusks so far have come from the same lineage. These razorbacks are tough and at times ill-tempered – animals whose fearlessness and doggedness were the inspiration for the Razorback nickname.
  • Beloved by Razorback Nation, Tusk is always the center of attention when he makes an appearance at games or other special events in and around the state of Arkansas. Tusk VI, the son of Tusk IV, took over when his brother, Tusk V, died on January 15th, 2023.
  • Tusk VI, who lives on the Stokes Family Farm near Dardanelle, Arkansas, is celebrated his sixth birthday on Friday, April 19th.
